Five people were hurt in a wrong-way crash early Monday morning on Interstate 45, Dallas police said.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the 9100 block of the Julius Schepps Freeway.
A 43-year-old man was allegedly driving south in the northbound lanes when he collided with a car driven by a 26-year-old woman with three female passengers inside, police said.
The two cars collided front left to front left and the force of the crash caused both cars to spin in a counter-clockwise motion, according to police.
First responders took all five people to a local hospital for their injuries from the crash. The female passengers in the 26-year-old woman's car included a 10-year-old, a 28-year-old and a 58-year-old.
Police allege the man was under the influence at the time and arrested him on charges of intoxication assault.
