COPPELL, Texas — A Coppell middle school teacher is facing charges after she was accused of inappropriate behavior with a student, according to Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
Monday afternoon, deputies arrested Julie Jenkin Brewer, 45, a Coppell Middle School West teacher. Text and social media messages were discovered and reported to school officials. Detectives interviewed Brewer who faces a charge of online solicitation of a minor.
According to the school district, Brewer resigned. She will not be allowed at Coppell Middle School West or any Coppell Independent School District campus or facility.
Officials said the school district reported the alleged incident to the State Board of Educator Certification, as required by law and District Policy.
The school notified Coppell Middle School West staff and parents of the situation and her arrest.
Brewer is currently in the process of being booked in on the charge at the Dallas County Jail. The investigation is still on-going.
