GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — One of Grand Prairie Police Department's beloved K-9, Kane, is in critical condition due to an infection.
"This is a challenging time for Kane, his handler, Officer Killian, and family," the GPPD posted Thursday to X, formerly known as Twitter. "Please join the GPPD family in keeping Kane in your thoughts as he undergoes further treatment."
Kane was taken to the Texas A&M Vet School in College Station when an incision became infected after a routine medical procedure last week.
While he is still in critical condition, the infection seems to be all bark and no bite as Kane continues to improve each day.
