School board members have launched an investigation into allegations against the Cedar Hill ISD superintendent. Administrators on Thursday confirmed that Billy Snow has been on unpaid administrative leave all week.
Questions were swirling across the community about the disciplinary action taken against Snow. However, administrators remain tight-lipped about details surrounding the allegations.
Cedar Hill ISD Board President Michael Quildon issued a message to staffers this week.
“Last week the Board President and Vice President learned of an allegation that we feel deserves to be thoroughly investigated," Quildon wrote.
There's no criminal behavior or financial impropriety, and the allegation does not involve any students of Cedar Hill ISD.
“Why would you be on leave unpaid?” Maria Cox said. “I’m a mother of three and a grandmother. It just makes me question.”
Snow is relatively new to this southern Dallas County school district. He came to Cedar Hill ISD from Dallas ISD in January 2018. The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees renewed Snow’s contract and approved a raise two months ago.
On Thursday, an assistant superintendent said the investigation should wrap up soon.
Quildon also issued the following statement:
“The Board has no comment at this time. District legal counsel is working on the matter as I type this email. Once completed, we will provide more information.”
"What did he do?" Cox said. "You know I want to know what could possibly have them on leave unpaid?”
Some parents say the flow of information coming from Cedar Hill ISD Headquarters about Snow, so far, is leaving them more confused.
The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees is expected to discuss the superintendent in closed session during meetings scheduled Friday and Saturday.
