DALLAS — Updated at 9:45 a.m. with new details from police.
Two hospital officers were hit by a car early Friday at the Baylor University Medical Center, according to Dallas police.
The driver was later taken into custody. The car was reported stolen, Dallas police said.
Dallas police officers were called around 7:30 a.m. to assist Baylor police officers near the intersection of Malcolm X Boulevard and Junius Street.
The hospital officers were responding to a call about a man slumped over in a car. When the officers neared the car, the driver reversed, hitting the two officers, Dallas police said.
One of the hospital officers fired his gun at the car, which was found at a nearby apartment complex, police said.
Witnesses told police what the driver looked like, and he was taken into custody. Police said the driver was uninjured. They have not said what charges the driver may face.
