50 years later Vietnam veteran sings again

It's been a long time since Dave Eagleston has played this much music, 49 years to be exact.

It's been a long time since Dave Eagleston has played this much music, 49 years to be exact.

"Well I kind of stopped music when I left for Vietnam in 1967," Eagleston said.

Eagleston lives in Frisco and up until four months ago he worked in aviation, but a round of layoffs left him without a job and time to pursue music again.

"Well a lot of people may put away a dream because they start a family or a career and right now I'm blessed to be able to pursue that again. It's never too late," Eagleston said.

So the Vietnam veteran decided to take his gift and share it with fellow service members, performing concerts for veterans across North Texas this Veterans Day.

"I think we should use our gifts and this is what I do best," Eagleston said.

On Friday Eagleston met with veterans from World War II and Korea. They traded stories and listed to a half hour of Eagleston's songs.

"I try to pick songs that mean something to them. I sing a lot of the classics," Eagleston said.
