A 3-year-old girl has died after she was left unattended in a bathtub at her home in Decatur in Wise County, police said.
Eve Blankenfeld died Tuesday evening, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.
The initial incident happened Friday at her family's home in the 1200 block of North Business 287 in Decatur. Police said the girl was in a bathtub when her mother left to go tend to other children in the house.
When the mother came back, Blankenfeld was face down in the tub, police said. She was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, where she died in intensive care on Tuesday.
Police said the incident was an accident and that no charges are being filed against the girl's parents.
