A 19-year-old man living in a Forney home where a five-month-old foster child died has been arrested on charges of child pornography.
Christian Richmond has been released on bond from the Kaufman County jail. He is the son of the foster mother.
Authorities are still awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of the child’s death.
The case is being jointly investigated by the Texas Rangers and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department.
On Dec. 29, Kaufman County deputies responded to a home in the 2000 block of Chisholm Trail Road after getting report about a death, according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by a Kaufman County Sheriff’s investigator. When officers arrived on scene, they found the infant dead.
“During the course of the investigation, there were conflicting stories from the only two adults on the scene,” the affidavit said.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by a Texas Ranger, Richmond told investigators that there was child pornography on his phone that he had received through an application called
“MEGA.”
An analysis of the phone showed there were “multiple pictures of a child younger than 18 years old engaged in sexual acts and involved in sexual conduct,” according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Four other children besides the infant were living in the home. One of them was an older sibling of the infant.
A CPS spokeswoman says that the other foster children have been placed elsewhere.
