A major sports drink company has revealed plans to open its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Texas.

Electrolit plans to build a $400 million facility in Waco and bring more than 200 jobs to the area, according to a Nov. 11 announcement. The roughly 600,000-square-foot facility is set to open in early 2026.

Founded in Mexico in 1950, Electrolit beverages are made with magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium glucose, sodium lactate and six ions for electrolyte absorption.

Electrolit is manufactured by Grupo Pisa, aka Laboratorios Pisa SA DE, a pharmaceutical company that brings a focus on quality ingredients and innovative manufacturing to the sports drink market.

"We’re excited to announce our new U.S. manufacturing facility, marking a major milestone in our growth and commitment to quality," the company said in a statement. “We are immensely grateful to all our U.S. consumers for their continued preference and support."

Electrolit will build the facility in Texas Central Park, Waco’s largest industrial park.

The company also announced plans to promote sustainability at the facility, including the use of recycled packaging materials and distribution via railways.

"Attracting a business like Electrolit meets the economic development objectives of our City by bringing in a quality business, a great management team, a significant financial commitment, and good jobs that help provide financial security to our Waco residents," Waco Mayor Jim Holmes said in a statement. "Electrolit also has a track record of support and involvement in the local community, and we look forward to this business being a part of all the great things going on in Waco."
