The city of Lewisville is moving forward with a plan to turn Lewisville Lake into a resort destination.
The city has approved a $161 million public-private project. If it gets the OK from the Army Corps of Engineers, construction would begin on a 300-room hotel and a conference center at the Tower Bay peninsula, adjacent to the Eagle Point Marina.
The master plan also calls for a resort lodge and cabins, apartments, and a restaurant complex all accessible by boaters, a boardwalk from the hotel, and the DCTA A-train transit network.
Corps approval could take up to two years.
