DALLAS — Dallas-Fort Worth’s new home market remains fire-hot — so sizzling, in fact, that some builders are saying “no thanks” to homebuyer agents and skipping the Multiple Listing Service.
New home sales last month racked up faster than ever and prices rose again as less inventory pushed total monthly sales lower, according to a HomesUSA.com report provided exclusively to the Dallas Business Journal on Friday.
For the 12th straight month, new homes sales set a record pace. The 3-month moving average for days on market, or DOM, in D-FW dropped to 57 days, a new low for the fewest average number of days for new homes to be on the market locally since HomesUSA.com began tracking the data with the launch of its News Home Sales Index in 2017.
The DOM for Dallas-Fort Worth was 98 days in June 2020, according to HomesUSA, whose findings are based on data from the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, a regional MLS that serves over 40,000 subscribers.
Statewide, the DOM dropped to 68 days, down from 72 days in May.
