Valley View foreclosure auction delayed

The once-popular shopping mall with 1.6 million square feet of floor space had been slated to go up for bids, but a representative for the trustee said the property will be put up for auction again.
Valley View Center has already lost two major tenants: Dillards and Macy's.

DALLAS Valley View Center in North Dallas was pulled from the auction block on Tuesday.

The once-popular shopping mall with 1.6 million square feet of floor space had been slated to go up for bids, but a representative for the trustee said the property will be put up for auction again.

Valley View Center is still open, but Dillards and Macy's have closed. The mall is now anchored by JCPenney, Sears, and an AMC Theatres multiplex.

The list of shops has dwindled, and the owner gave the property to vendors in 2010.

Valley View Center, on the northwest corner of LBJ Freeway and Preston Road, opened for business in 1973 and was renovated in 2004.
