Construction on H-E-B LP’s upcoming store in Las Colinas could begin next month.
Planning documents filed Oct. 10 with the state revealed additional details about the construction timeline for the the upcoming 119,047-square-foot Irving store, which was first revealed in August.
Construction on the grocery store located at Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard, in front of a former Fry's Electronics, is anticipated to be completed in June 2026 and estimated to cost $37 million, according to the filing. RSP Architects will serve as the design firm on the project.
Information found in Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings is often preliminary and subject to change, but it can provide an early look into construction plans. An H-E-B spokesperson declined to comment.
The Las Colinas store is expected to about generate 700 jobs. It will be the first H-E-B in Dallas County. However, the San Antonio-based grocery company has several locations of its Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores in the county.
The retailer also plans to open its third Joe V’s location in the Metroplex in Irving. According to a filing with the state, work on the store is anticipated to start in March and wrap up in November 2025.
H-E-B isn’t the only company constructing a new project in that Las Colinas interstate frontage site in November 2025. Los Angeles-based LaTerra Development LLC previously confirmed it also plans to start construction on a 161,250-square-foot self-storage facility, plus 34,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor RV and boat storage, in November. The storage-facility is anticipated to be delivered in November 2025.
