H-E-B announces opening date for Mansfield location, groundbreaking for Rockwall location

The Mansfield store will be the second H-E-B store in Tarrant County.

MANSFIELD, Texas — H-E-B’s North Texas expansion continues with two new locations.

The Texas grocer is opening its Mansfield location at 1670 Broad Street on June 26 and will break ground on a location in Rockwall at the southwest corner of I-30 and S. John King Boulevard on June 27. That store’s expected to open in 2025.

The Mansfield store will be the second H-E-B store in Tarrant County. The first one in the Alliance area opened in April.

The Mansfield location will come with several traffic pattern updates in the nearby area. Here's the updates, courtesy of city officials:

Southbound US 287

Traffic coming from southbound US 287 will take the exit at E Broad Street. Drive straight through the light and continue traveling south on the frontage road. Take the U-Turn at the end of the roadway. After the U-Turn there will be an entrance to the right.

Northbound US 287

Take the exit for E. Broad St. You will immediately see an entrance for H-E-B, do not use this entrance. There is a curbed median which will prevent you from entering H-E-B. A short distance ahead there will be a second entrance, use this entrance.

Westbound Broad Street

If traveling westbound on E. Broad Street (away from SH 360) you will need to drive beyond the store and turn onto the US 287 southbound frontage road. Continue south on the frontage road to the U-Turn at the end of the roadway. Take the U-Turn. After the U-Turn, there will be an entrance to the right.

Eastbound Broad Street

If traveling eastbound on E  Broad St will turn right onto the US 287 frontage road at the intersection. Continue southbound on the frontage road to the U-Turn at the end of the roadway. Take the U-Turn. After the U-Turn there will be an entrance to the right.

A third Tarrant County store is planned at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard in the Glade Parks South area, which sits in both Euless and Bedford. The projected opening date is late 2026.

Construction is also set to begin this year on a store in the Collin County city of Murphy on the southwest corner of Farm Road 544 and McCreary Road, south of the CVS Pharmacy in that area.

H-E-B already had a strong presence in North Texas, with store locations in Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, and more, according to its website.

H-E-B also broke ground on its second Dallas Joe V’s Smart Shop in March at the corner of Buckner Boulevard and Samuell Boulevard.

Joe V’s Smart Shop has 10 locations in the Houston area, where it launched in 2010. H-E-B, which operates Joe V’s Smart Shop, began construction last year on a Joe V’s location at the corner of Wheatland Road and Highway 67 in Dallas, which is expected to become the brand’s first store to open outside the Houston area. That store’s expected to open this summer.
