North Texas stadiums and arenas are among the best selling in the world, a new ranking reported.
Pollstar, a publication that covers events, tours and venues worldwide, listed the top 200 arenas and top 100 stadiums in the world based on ticket sales from November 2020 to November 2021.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and its variants, DFW stadiums were in the top 50 best-selling stadiums globally.
Globe Life Field ranked at No. 18 among stadiums and sold 76,150 tickets and grossed $7 million. Cotton Bowl Stadium was the second-ranking DFW stadium and was listed at No. 37 with 43,469 tickets sold and $8.9 million made. With 40,900 tickets sold, AT&T Stadium is 41st and grossed $5.3 million.
For arenas, American Airlines Center was the highest-ranking DFW arena and 10 globally. The center sold 191,752 tickets and made $22 million. Dickies Arena was listed at 42 and saw 84,833 tickets sold accounting for $8.7 million.
Curtis Culwell Center in Garland ranked 109, and the center had 24,057 sold and $616,472 in profit. With $600,526 gross, the Allen Event Center was listed at 147 and sold 13,738.
The top three best-selling stadiums included Golden Gate Park in California which sold 222,954 tickets, Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania with 192,889 tickets sold and Wrigley Field in Illinois with 192,016 tickets sold.
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville was the best-selling arena with 336,227 tickets sold, and Madison Square Garden in New York ranked second with 298,235 tickets sold. Forum in California was listed third with 277,781 tickets sold.
