DALLAS — Investment continues chasing sunbelt markets, and data indicates that Dallas will be the top overall real estate investment destination in the Americas heading into the next year.
According to the Colliers Global Capital Markets 2022 Investor Outlook report, Dallas led the nation in investment sales volume in this year and last. Another record year of investment is expected in 2022, and Dallas is the No. 1 location to invest in the coming year.
Industrial is the most popular asset class for investors heading into the new year, and Dallas was the most commonly selected preference for industrial and logistics investment, followed by Los Angeles and New York. Overall, almost 70% of survey respondents expressed preference for industrial and logistics assets, and 33% expressed preference for investment in the Dallas market.
According to the report, light industrial/flex and big-box/warehouse were popular among those surveyed, with more than 80% of those surveyed interested in those asset types. Specialty assets are also in favor, with respondents showing interest in container terminals and cold/dark storage.
