Addison-based Concentra Inc. announced on Nov. 11 the opening of an additional healthcare clinic in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The company that specializes in urgent care and occupational therapy opened at 1111 N. I-35 E. in DeSoto, south of Dallas. The location will provide work injury care, physical therapy, drug testing, Department of Transportation physical exams, pre-placement exams and other employer-related health services.

Telemedicine for minor work injuries will also be available through the company’s remote platform.

"We’re excited to grow our footprint in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex," Robert Hassett, senior vice president of Concentra medical operations said in a statement. "Our new DeSoto location will open up a new avenue for care for employers in southwest Dallas."

Concentra has almost 550 occupational health centers nationwide, including around 20 in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. The company claims it is the largest provider of occupational health services in the United States by number of locations.

Concentra Group Holdings Parent Inc. went public in July with shares priced at $23.50 apiece and a valuation of nearly $3 billion. Its stock has fallen slightly since then and was trading around $20.10 on Nov. 12, giving it a market capitalization of about $2.6 billion.

Concentra told investors in November it has an annual revenue of around $1.9 billion. The company said it cares for more than 50,000 patients per business day.
