DALLAS — A furniture store is closing all 300-plus locations across the country, including seven in DFW.
American Freight, an Ohio-based furniture store chain, has locations in Carrollton, Mesquite, Allen, Dallas, Grand Prairie, Arlington and Fort Worth, according to their website.
American Freight blamed the closures on financial problems incurred because of “sustained inflation and macroeconomic challenges facing the large durable goods sector," our sister station reported.
The announcement of the closures comes after American Freight’s parent company Franchise Group Inc., filed for bankruptcy in a court in Delaware.
Franchise Inc. also owns The Vitamin Shoppe, Buddy’s Home Furnishings and Pet Supplies Plus.
Here are the locations of the DFW-area American Freight stores:
- 12145 Marsh Lane in Carrollton
- 1418 Town East Blvd. in Mesquite
- 109 N. Greenville Ave. in Allen
- 2964 W. Wheatland Road in Dallas
- 1825 Westpark Drive in Grand Prairie
- 401 Southwest Plaza in Arlington
- 1265 Town Square Drive in Fort Worth
The chain has begun going-out-of-business sales with the store’s furniture and appliances discounted at up to 30% off the lowest ticketed price.
