A sprawling master-planned neighborhood with 700 home lots is in store for Anna, joining a slew of other residential developments planned for the fast-growing community.
Coyote Meadows, from Atlanta-based homebuilder Ashton Woods and its sister brand Starlight Homes, will feature both townhomes and single-family residences. Construction began in February, and the first residents of the new community are expected to move in this summer, a representative from Ashton Woods said.
Pre-sales for the lots, located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 121, began in May.
Ashton Woods plans to build 225 single-family homes on 50-foot lots and 100 homes on 60-foot lots. Homes come in 13 different designs, available in one-story and two-story plans that include three to five bedrooms, two to four baths and two half baths. Home prices range from $343,000 to $471,000.
Meanwhile, Starlight Homes is responsible for constructing 150 townhomes and 225 single-family homes. Townhomes will be available for sale at a later date, but initial specs indicate they will have three to four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The two-story townhomes range from 1,745 to 1,905 square feet, and each will have a two-car garage.
In addition to residences, Coyote Meadows plans to offer amenities, including a resort-style pool, parks and an extensive trail system that will connect to nearby parks.
The community also boasts a prime location near two highways and access near major employment hubs in McKinney, Frisco and Allen. An Ashton Woods representative added the sales process for the community is simple, allowing buyers to move in within 30 days.
Anna is also known for its quality school district. Anna Independent School District is building a new elementary school expected to open July 2025.
“In short, Anna is thriving,” Karla Horton, Ashton Woods’ vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement. “Whether you prefer the small-town lifestyle or the infrastructure of a larger city, Anna offers the best of both worlds.”
Horton added the company believes Coyote Meadows is an ideal location for “homeowners looking to grow with their community."
Families, drawn to cheaper housing costs and safe, close-knit neighborhoods, have been flocking to the northern reaches of Collin County, including in cities like Anna. Semiconductor factories coming on line in Sherman — just 20 miles north of Anna — are also driving demand for housing, said Bernie Parker, the city’s newly appointed economic development director.
The city, which has a population of nearly 30,000, also has seen an explosion in residential development, with the largest year-over-year jump in single-family permits in Dallas-Fort Worth. It saw a 525% increase in January and February, at 300 permits, according to data from real estate firm Tomlin Investments Ltd.
Other residential projects on the horizon for Anna include D.R. Horton’s Woods of Lindsey Place, the Villages of Hurricane Creek, Anna Ranch and AnaCapri.
