Who you gonna call? Strap on your proton pack and visit the North Texas Ghostbusters Headquarters

"This is Halloween, Texas for the next 30 days," Mayor Gerard Hudspeth said.

DENTON, Texas — Ghostbusters fans get ready to strap on your proton pack and blast your way through ghost-infested scenarios because North Texas is about to get paranormal.

Tuesday, the City of Denton transformed its visitor's center on West Hickory Street into the North Texas Ghostbusters Headquarters to celebrate the first day of the Halloween season.

"This is Halloween, Texas for the next 30 days," Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth said.

Every day throughout October, the community will be able to enjoy several Halloween-themed events, 13 décor pop-up stations, a block party, a pumpkin drop, parades and interactive experiences like the Haunted Hotline.

"We have dead phone booths all around town like a scavenger hunt of sorts," said Creative Producer with Odd Crow Creative Wally Walior. "Once you walk inside it comes to life. There's a secret message on every phone that gives you clues to where the next phone booth is."

There are QR codes placed around the city to help guide people to different Halloween experiences. There are also about 15 pop-up selfie stations located across the city.

"Just about everything is homemade by our local residents, parks and rec staff, and local artists have all contributed to this. It's a way to celebrate our creative environment in the city," city officials said.

The North Texas Ghostbusters is a charity group that helps raise funds for charity organizations across the state. However, they say if you notice any strange "Afterlife" activity in your neighborhood - give them a call.

"We hope to be here to bust ghosts, have fun and collect money for charity. There is no job too big, no fee too big, call the North Texas Ghostbusters when you need us," Chris Uzzle, President of the NTX Ghostbusters said.

The original Ghostbusters HQ is located in Lower Manhattan. Ladder 8 has served the New York City Fire Department for over a century and was made famous in the 1984 movie “Ghostbusters.
