GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — The long-anticipated food hall concept from the owners of Serious Pizza has an official opening date, and a planned celebration to go along with it.

Serious Eats is scheduled to open Aug. 2 in the EpicCentral entertainment district in Grand Prarie. The "not-so-serious" grand opening will follow a soft opening July 29. On Aug. 2 customers can enjoy live music, face painting, lawn games and giveaways from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The new food hall-style restaurant comes from Milkshake Concepts, the ownership group behind Serious Pizza. The new "micro food hall" will be located next to other Milkshake Concepts owner restaurants including Vidorra Cocina de Mexico and The Finch American Grill, according to a press release from the company.

The food hall will sell cocktails, shakes (boozy and not), sliders and, of course, pizza. It will also use a unique self-serve concept, allowing visitors to order from all three food categories in one place, the release states. A stage inside the restaurant will host live music, watch parties, and trivia nights.

"We have had exciting plans for the Serious brand for some time, and we were very excited about building off our existing menu by adding fun sliders and extreme, over-the-top milkshakes," Milkshake Concepts CEO Imran Sheikh said in the release.

The food hall is located at 2971 S State Hwy 161, near the popular pickleball restaurant Chicken n' Pickle and other attractions including Epic Waters Indoor Water Park.

After opening day, the food hall will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., with alcohol service stopping at 2 a.m., the release states.
