DALLAS — A popular Dallas pastry shop in Uptown is closing its doors after nearly 10 years.

The owners of Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie said the shop’s last day will be Oct. 21, when it will close at 1 p.m., according to a post on the shop’s Facebook page.

“When we first dreamed up what was to become Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie 15 years ago, we could only dream it would become the magical place that it is today. We started it with a passion for French pastry and wanted to make it a reality for Dallas,” the post from owners Andrea and Matt Meyer said.

Andrea, who attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and worked at Bouchon Bakery & Bouchon Bistro in California, served as its executive pastry chef.

“We designed much of the shop ourselves and learned as much as we could through each struggle,” the post read. “All that passion and hard work couldn’t overcome my serious bone cancer diagnosis in 2018, however. My struggle to get healthy went through the pandemic and continues today, and that’s the true reason we have decided to close Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie.”

The space at 3700 McKinney Ave. in Uptown will remain a bakery, though.

After Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie closes, Dallas’ Empire Baking Company will open in the space Oct. 25, with the staff from Bisous.

“They have our sincerest and utmost support and this change, while unexpected, will allow both of us to move forward in a positive way,” the Meyers’ social media post said.
