Norma's Cafe offering famous Chicken Fried Streak, Birthday Cake Pie for $2 on 68th birthday

Dallas dining icon Norma's Cafe is offering its famous Chicken Fried Steak and limited-edition Birthday Cake Pie for the 1950s price of $1.85 each ($2 plus tax).

DALLAS — Happy, happy birthday to Dallas dining icon, Norma's Cafe

For its 68th birthday on June 26, the diner will be offering its famous Chicken Fried Steak and limited-edition Birthday Cake Pie for the 1950s price of $1.85 each ($2 with tax). All proceeds from the day will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Dallas, which is close to the heart of the cafe's owner, Ed Murph.

Murph was a Little in the organization in the 1950s to World War II veteran Bill Barnett and later served as a Big in the program.

“Wonderful memories and lifelong friends were made in that experience,” Murph said in a press release. “We are so proud to partner with such a terrific organization.”

Norma's Cafe has five full-service locations throughout DFW in North Dallas, Frisco, Park Lane, Plano, and the original Oak Cliff on Davis Street. All five locations will participate in the birthday promotion.

Garland’s Norma’s “On-The-Go” location will offer the $1.85 charity promotion for walk-up/pick-up service on that day, the company said in the press release.

“Celebrating 68 years in business is an absolute accomplishment, and Norma’s is delighted to continue to expand our reach to more guests who live in and serve this city that we love,” said Kurt Metzger, Vice President of Operations for Norma’s Cafe.
