A pub from Canada will open its first Texas location on Henderson Avenue.

Canada-based Local Public Eatery, a pub-like restaurant, will open in a 7,144-square-foot space on Dallas’ Henderson Avenue on Sept. 26.

The relaxed pub concept will mimic its other locations in design and operations, adorning artwork and sports memorabilia to create a cozy, eclectic environment. The space will include a central bar and beer board that doubles as a TV screen. The restaurant will have a patio, too.

Its menu packs a punch of wildly different offerings from a smoked trout dip to a shrimp and pesto pizza, with burgers, pastas, and salads in between. Its robust drink menu includes cocktails, wine and drink towers.

On draft, beers from these local breweries made the list: Manhattan Project Beer Co., Trinity Cider, Revolver Brewery, Four Corners Brewing Company, Community Beer Co., Real Ale Brewing Co., Tupps Brewery and Deep Ellum Brewing Co, which permanently closed its taproom in May.

“Home to a bustling food scene and rich sports history, we’re beyond thrilled to be debuting Local Public Eatery’s first Texas location in Dallas,” says Regional Manager Brody Jones. “Our vibrant culinary culture and laid-back atmosphere uniquely aligns with Knox-Henderson’s neighborhood, delivering a new go-to hangout for community connections and celebrations.”

Operated by Canada-based hospitality company Joey, Local Public Eatery was founded in 2009 and has 16 locations across Canadian provinces including Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. Its first U.S. location opened in Seattle. The chain did not respond to Dallas Business Journal's request for comment on expansion plans.

Henderson Avenue is a hot area for retail and dining as it is positioned between Dallas' Knox Street and Greenville Avenue. Across the street from Local Public Eatery is a new bar that opened in a 100-year-old house.
