DALLAS — Unlike Plankton, Dallas restaurants have successfully stolen the Krabby Patty secret formula!
No, not really, but seven local restaurants are participating in the Krabby Patty Kollab. Nickelodeon is partnering with over 250 local restaurants and giving them free rein to make their own rendition of Bikini Bottom's favorite burger. Find the participating local restaurants here.
The collab is a celebration of 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants and runs from Oct. 8 through Oct. 27.
If you've never heard of a Krabby Patty, SpongeBob or Bikini Bottom, you must live under a rock like Patrick. A Krabby Patty is the signature dish of the Krusty Krab, a fictional undersea restaurant where the show's titular fry cook, SpongeBob SquarePants, gets into all sorts of hijinks.
With full creative freedom, Dallas restaurants are showing out!
Vietnamese and Mexican fusion restaurant Cris and John are topping their burger with pickled Asian cucumbers and a unique seaweed aioli.
If you're a vegetarian, don't worry!
Lubbies Bagels' take on the Krabby Patty is a veggie burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and their own secret formula sauce all on a kaiser roll! That meal will be completed with a side of twice-fried fingerlings and kimchi mayo.
Let's say you're not feeling a burger at all. Maybe Le Rêve Gelato & Pâtisserie can interest you in dessert?
Le Rêve's take on the Krabby Patty is a full-on pastry. Their "burger" features a pineapple patty (an homage to SpongeBob's house), vanilla pastry cream cheese, crêpe lettuce, strawberry mousse tomato and ganache mayonnaise between two vanilla sponge buns.
Some Dallas restaurants haven't yet announced their own Krabby Patty concoction for the collab, but more news is expected to come before Oct. 8.
