FORT WORTH, Texas — Goldee's Barbecue, the top ranked joint in the state according to Texas Monthly's 2021 list, announced Sunday a new restaurant will be opening in Fort Worth.
But there is a twist with this new location: it'll be exclusively a rib joint called Ribbee's.
The North Texas BBQ joint nestled off of Dick Price Road in Fort Worth opened in 2020 and rose to prominence after taking the top spot on Texas Monthly's prestigious list.
WFAA's Sean Giggy followed up with Goldee's in April of 2022 as they experimented with a new idea: a one-day crossover into a sandwich shop. Now, they're continuing to innovate with their newest rib-focused venture.
Ribbee's will take over a 50-year-old former Sonic Drive-In, located at 923 E. Seminary Drive, and serve only baby-back ribs five different ways, macaroni-and-cheese and french fries, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Ribbee's will be open for lunch and dinner Wednesdays through Sundays, the Star-T reported, which is longer than Goldee's hours of operation of lunch only from Friday to Sunday.
It is expected to open in late November, Goldee's co-founder Jonny White told the Star-T.
