DALLAS — As Dallas-Fort Worth's tech sector continues to surge, an onslaught of six-figure salary jobs have come available.
According to data analyzed by Ladders Inc., a career website focused on high-paying jobs, Dallas-Fort Worth has 8,432 of those high-paying job openings available for the month of May.
Using ADP and Moody’s Analytics, Ladders identified that the number of private payrolls nationwide increased by 275,000 in April. Ladders focused on look at mid- to senior level jobs in its analysis.
Dallas-Fort Worth took the number No. 8 spot on the list of the top 15 American cities with the most available six-figure salary positions.

While San Francisco may be one of the most expensive places to live, the Bay Area topped the list with 26,924 job openings.
Newly graduating Millennials may have to compete with a new glut of 3 million Baby Boomers over 55 years old who have joined the workforce over the past three years, according to a Reuters report based on Bureau of Labor data.
The Bay Area saw its biggest job gains in March led by Santa Clara County and the East Bay, according to the Ladders report, and jobs such as social media marketing managers are hot right now.
But demand in certain sectors was also unique to the metro area.
For example, third-place Washington, D.C., recorded plenty of general technology jobs but is currently lacking those with cybersecurity and business intelligence skills, while Los Angeles has plenty of jobs available in finance, sales and health care. Denver is one of the top cities hiring for tech workers, and out of the 1.4 million workers there, 9.2 percent work in STEM.
Ladders CEO Marc Cenedella said 2019 has the strongest hiring economy in history and that now is a good time for professionals to find jobs.
"Knowing where abundant job openings are can have an impact on whether people are looking to move to a different area or are comfortable continuing their job search where they are located," Cenedella said.
