FORT WORTH, Texas — It's Spring Break in Fort Worth, and this Wednesday is one of the busiest days of the Fort Worth Zoo's year, as they will be offering tickets at half-price.
Fort Worth Zoo Spokesperson Avery Elander said the zoo has prepared for the busy day by increasing its staff by 40% for the spring/summer season.
To have the best experience at the zoo tomorrow, here are some tips to know ahead of time:
- Plan for extra time for traffic and parking. Fort Worth police will also be on-site to help staff direct traffic and move visitors to one of the zoo's many parking lots.
- Carpooling or ridesharing is also recommended. Trinity Metro's Southside ZIPZONE is offering round-trip transportation for $5 during Spring break here.
- Multiple ways to get to the zoo can be found here.
- Visitors can bring coolers and outside food and drinks into the zoo, and there are several areas inside for picnicking. Lines at park restaurants should be expected during peak hours.
The zoo has also welcomed numerous new babies recently, including a baby lion, a baby giraffe, a baby rockhopper penguin, a baby mandrill and two baby colobus monkeys.
