PLANO, Texas — Officers in Plano had an interesting weekend where they had to wrangle a cow and help her get home after wandering off to "greener pastures."
The department posted about the loose cow incident on Friday afternoon, but an incident report showed the call happened on Sunday, July 7 at approximately 7 p.m.
"Like true Texans, our Public Safety Officers wrangled the young cow from the wild west of the road and assisted her in finding her way home," the department said in its Facebook post.
This isn't the first time this has happened in Plano, either. In April 2023, a herd of cows were literally "steered" by Plano police officers along a city road. The 2023 incident happened in the area of E. Parker Road and Jupiter Road. Plano police posted bodycam footage of the incident.
Sunday's lone cow got loose in the area of Ohio Drive and State Highway 121. The cow belongs to a farm along eastbound SH 121 service road.
Moooooo-ve over, Yellowstone. Plano PD is coming for you!
