FORT WORTH, Texas — Horses aren't exactly an uncommon sight in Fort Worth's historic Stockyards, but they're usually not spotted quite like this.
A truck driver got some extra horsepower from the backseat of a GMC truck. Not the bed, not a trailer, but the backseat.
A video provided to WFAA shows a white horse riding in a white truck which apparently isn't illegal, Fort Worth police confirmed in a statement.
Fort Worth PD didn't receive any calls about the horse riding in the back, the department said. However, keeping a horse in a car could be illegal if it was left in the heat or cold for an extended period of time, police said.
We might be thinking too hard about this though. It's a horse riding in the backseat of a truck, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Plus, it looks like the horse is pretty content riding in the back seat. After all, you can lead a horse to a truck, but you can't make it... go inside? Maybe that doesn't work.
Several details about the video remain unclear including how exactly the horse got into the vehicle, where exactly the hooves are situated inside of the vehicle and why a horse trailer was not available immediately before the video was captured.
Maybe it's a mini horse? We're not sure. Either way, from 'The Herd' to 'Horse in Truck,' there is no shortage of Western experiences to be enjoyed at the Stockyards.
