DALLAS — Fireworks can be scary for pets.
Some pet owners may be concerned about their pets getting spooked and potentially going missing ahead of the Fourth of July. For that reason, Dallas Animal Services is offering microchips, collars and ID tags for a suggested $4 donation to Friends of Dallas Animal Services today.
Dallas Animal Services said they gave out about 100 ID tags and microchipped about 50 pets Tuesday and are offering the microchips, collars and tags again until 7 p.m. today at 1818 N. Westmoreland Road.
Dallas Animal Services will also have adoptable pets available at the Sensory Sensitive 4th of July celebration from 6-10 p.m. tonight at the Sound at Cypress Waters.
The free event designed for people and pets with noise sensitivity will feature animal education from Creature Teacher, a petting zoo, face painting, a new feature called the Star Spangle Glow, which uses synchronized LED bracelets to create a light show, and more.
