DALLAS — She's a beauty icon!
And at just five feet tall, Bobbi Brown is a giant when it comes to keeping it real.
"I try things and I'm not afraid of failure because I don't believe there's such a thing as failure. Things don't work sometimes and that's okay. If you take that and say maybe I should do it differently, maybe I should try something else. It's a win. It's a life lesson," said the incomparable Bobbi Brown.
The legendary make-up artist, best-selling author and entrepreneur made a stop in Dallas on April 18 headlining the Woman to Woman Luncheon benefitting the Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas.
"As a Jewish girl I've always supported great organizations," she said proudly.

No longer with the cosmetics company that bears her name, Bobbi Brown has not slowed down. In October 2020, she unveiled Jones Road Beauty on the philosophy that the world doesn't need more beauty products. It needs better beauty products. She used social media to help spread the word, becoming an instant Tik Tok sensation.
"I don't plan things. We just try things and if it works we do it again and if it doesn't work we don't do it," she said.
Brown's philosophy remains straightforward: "The secret to beauty is simple: be who you are."
"If you always think you need to be like someone else, you're never going to get there and so it's my mission to help people feel comfortable and confident in their skin, and 'I Am Me' just means like it or leave it," she said.
Brown's 'I am Me Campaign' celebrates the journey of finding ourselves and owning who we truly are.
"I think I tried to be a bit of everything. The corporate girl, the cool fashion girl and finally I realized..hey I am me. This is who I am and I started realizing that I don't need to try and be like anyone else because it really didn't work," she said.
What does work is being authentic and comfortable.
"You know how you have those jeans in your closet that are your skinny jeans and there's days that you put them on and say yeah they fit and you realize they don't fit right now. It's okay. They don't fit right now. Have a bigger one and be comfortable. Every woman has to decide, do they want to spend the rest of their life in too tight of jeans."
The beauty legend says Texas women have a reputation for being strong and she admires that.
"I love the women. Texas women are so funny and so tough, and they don't take any prisoners. And I love the food. I love the BBQ. I'm a BBQ girl."
During the luncheon, Brown encouraged everyone by simply reminding them that they were okay.
"Everyone be realistic. Just be realistic. And shut that noise off in your head that you're not good enough, or pretty enough or even tall enough."
When asked about living in an era of botox and fillers, Brown quickly quipped "Clearly I don't."
For women who want to age naturally -- Brown is right there with you.
"I'm not here to say don't do something. If it makes them feel good, of course by all means do it. What I want to offer is a choice. I know for me my husband early on said don't do it. We're aging together. We've been married over 35 years and yeah we do not look like the kids when we first met, but when we're together I don't think that we're any different," she said.
And if you truly want to look good, she says embrace you.
"Calm down and appreciate where you are. If I hear one more 25-year-old woman complain about her breakouts. I wish I could complain about my 25-year-old hormonal breakouts," said the 67-year-old.
She also shared with us her favorite product with Jones Road Beauty.
"I love the miracle balm. That's my tried and true. The reason I like it is because when I put it on I just look better. It wakes me up, gives me moisture, gives me color."
And she says there's one product every woman should carry in her purse.
"The older I get, I need a brown pencil. I can do my brows, I can do under my eyes. I could smudge it for eye shadow. And I could use it between touch-ups in my hair."
After not having visited North Texas in more than 10 years, Brown said she was happy to be here celebrating natural beauty and sharing her true key to success.
"Life is short and so am I," she joked. "Just be a really good person. Take care of yourself. Be kind to yourself and everyone around you."
There's nothing more beautiful than that.
