DALLAS — Melanie Martinez's concert at the American Airlines Center was moved to May 22 after both the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars advanced to their respective Western Conference Finals.
This is the first time ever that the Mavericks and Stars have been to the Western Conference Finals at the same time. Due to the postseason success, the schedule at the American Airlines Center became quite crowded. Martinez was set to play the Dallas show of The Trilogy Tour on May 25, but the Dallas Stars play Game 2 against the Edmonton Oilers on that night.
Martinez is the fourth performer to have a concert rescheduled due to Mavericks or Stars games. Bad Bunny moved his concert up due to a Mavs-Clippers game. Nicki Minaj did the same for a Mavericks-Thunder game, as well as Pepe Aguilar.
"Due to both Dallas teams advancing in the playoffs, we have to move the date to ensure we can still play Dallas," Martinez posted on social media. "We're doing our very best to work around the NBA and NHL playoffs as needed."
Tickets for the May 25 show will be honored for the rescheduled concert on May 22. Ticket holders will be emailed with more information, Martinez said in the social post.
Singer NF's concert scheduled for June 1 at the American Airlines Center could also be in jeopardy. The Mavericks would play the Timberwolves in Game 6 at the AAC, if the series goes to six games.
