DALLAS — The fourth annual Mambo Miles 5K takes off Saturday, June 22, as thousands of runners and walkers prepare to raise money for the M Crowd Familia Fund.

The fund aims to support Mi Cocina hourly wage employees and their immediate families during times of loss or financial challenges.

The race, named after Mi Cocina’s famous margarita, will begin and end at the restaurant’s location in Klyde Warren Park. The park opens at 7 a.m. and the race itself begins at 8 a.m.

Racers will celebrate reaching the finish line with a finisher’s medal and their choice of a Mambo Taxi, a Hampton Water Rosè or an EIGHT Elite Light Lager.

The post-race activities at Klyde Warren Park include a tequila garden, a live performance from DJ Jose Guevara, food truck offerings and other local businesses.

For those more interested in the event’s titular famous margarita rather than the race itself, the Mambo Mile 5K does offer a party pass as an alternative to race registration. The pass allows participants to skip the race and start celebrating early with the choice of a Mambo Taxi and sampling in the tequila garden.

Race registration and party passes are still available for purchase. The $60 race registration cost includes a T-shirt, finisher medal and a legendary Mambo Taxi and sampling in the tequila garden.
