Things to do in Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend: Mardi Gras, Super Bowl parties, Black Dance Theatre and more

Have fun, but keep an eye out for rain all this weekend.

DALLAS — Event with the couple rounds of rain chances, it'll be kind of hard to not go outside this weekend.

Super Bowl and Mardi Gras weekend will already have North Texans until Monday morning.

There are also a bunch of Valentine's happening for everyone, whether you're celebrating your significant other, friends, or yourself. Check out that list here.

Get ready, DFW! Here's a look at what's happening this weekend.

Friday, Feb. 9

Dallas Black Dance Theatre presents, "Cultural Awareness" (Friday and Saturday)

Celebrate Black History Month with the world premiere of "Cultural Awareness" by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre at the Wyle Theatre.

Matching this year's BHM theme, "art of resistance," the Black Dance Theatre is exploring the blend of movement, rhythm, and expression from around the world.

The 7:30 p.m. shows consist of at least four dance numbers. Tickets start at $35.

Before then, the theatre will have a Living Witness Speaker Series with Dale Long, a survivor of the 1963 Birmingham Church Bombings. 

Long's appearance will start at 6 p.m. Tickets for that are $15, which includes lite bites and two drink vouchers.

Cultural Awareness 2024

Limited tickets available! Start off your Black History Month with a celebration of the richness of cultural diversity as we explore the interplay of movement, rhythm, and expression. Featuring two world premieres, Cultural Awareness promises to be an unparalleled evening of artistry and dance.
