DALLAS — Prost! The season of Oktoberfest is near, North Texas. That means plenty of towns and breweries across DFW will put on their own celebrations to mark the occasion.
The official Oktoberfest takes place from Sept. 21 to Oct. 6 in Munich, Germany, on the Theresienwiese, but here in North Texas, the celebrations kick off a week early.
Sept. 14
Where: 2302 Executive Drive, Garland, TX
When: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Lakewood Brewing Company is kicking off fall with a punk theme. Punk acts the Bourcy Leos, Ben McKracken and Joe Russel will perform all day at the event. They'll also be releasing three new beers for the event: Punkel, Drunkel and Punktress.
Where: 5959 Grove Lane The Colony, TX
When: Noon to midnight
Truck Yard at The Colony is challenging you to show off your skills at their Oktoberfest. From stein hoisting to pretzel eating, you can show off your skills to win gift cards. If you own a wiener dog, they can even get involved in a race!
Sept. 19

For more than 35 years, Addison Oktoberfest has put on its Bavarian celebration with a Texas twist. They'll have polka music, traditional German food, and of course, beer! This is a family-friendly event, so maybe take the kids for some strudel.
Sept. 21

When: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Pegasus City Brewery is kicking off the start of Oktoberfest with stein hoisting, beer barrel rolling, and das boot chugging competitions. They'll also have an Oktoberfest outfit contest, where the best dressed wins a gift card.
Sept. 26
Where: 1501 University Drive, Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth Oktoberfest is a three-day event chock full of music, activities and traditional Bavarian fare. For the athletes out there, this event hosts a 5k run! But if you're just there to drink beer and be merry, there will be plenty of that too. If you buy tickets early, you can secure yourself a complimentary stein.
Sept. 27
Where: 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney, TX

For nearly two decades, McKinney has been paying homage to Germany with its Oktoberfest celebration. The event is free to attend, but paid packages are available for a more VIP experience. On Sept. 28, Tupps Brewery will hold a brewmaster session to learn more about the beer they're serving at the event.

Community Beer Company is celebrating Oktoberfest with seasonal brews, German-inspired food, and adoptable dogs! The brewery is also pre-selling a limited number of stein packages.
Where: 833 Morton St., Fort Worth, TX

Little Woodrow's in Fort Worth is holding their own Oktoberfest. Little Woodrow's is an icehouse, and they'll be holding a stein hoisting competition to test your brawn. Winners will get special prizes.
Oct. 4
Where: 100 E. Pearl St., Granbury, TX

Granbury Oktoberfest will have vendors, beer hoisting contests, Hammerschlagen, Jenga, contests, and polka dancing. This is a family fun event and includes a Kinderplatz to keep your children entertained, plus the shops, eateries, and entertainment venues all around the Square.
Oct. 5
Where: 8100 Doran Circle, Dallas, TX
When: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands is holding its annual Oktoberfest event with music, brews and food for the whole family. For entertainment, they'll have country singer Cody Morrow and a Taylor Swift cover band. They'll also have TVs so you don't have to choose between celebrating and catching the best college football games.
Where: 9 Cowboys Way, Frisco, TX
When: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Frisco Oktoberfest is inviting you to raise your stein and shout "PROST" at The Star. No tickets are required, and attendees can purchase food directly from vendors. The event will also have steins available for purchase while supplies last.
Where: 9 Prestige Circle, Allen, TX
When: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Armor Brewing Company in Allen rounds out the Oktoberfest season in North Texas with their Oktoberversary! The brewery will have seasonal beers, a full lineup of activities and live music all day.
