Visitors will be treated to the first-ever drone show for four nights only at the State Fair of Texas.

DALLAS — Big Tex is ready to say "Howdy Y'all" as the State Fair of Texas prepares to open its gates later this month.

The annual event kicks off on Friday, Sept. 27, and ends on Sunday, Oct. 20.

The State Fair of Texas prides itself on celebrating all things Texan and providing something for everyone. The staple attractions are returning, but with some new exciting things to check out.

Here is a list of the new attractions this year:

Billy Kidd Show

How did she do that?

Prepare to be dazzled and delighted as Billy weaves her close-up magic, leaving audiences spellbound with every sleight of hand and mind-bending trick. With her charismatic charm and infectious energy, she’ll have you believing in the impossible and craving more.

Bryan Berg the Card Stacker

Step into the Hall of State and witness a jaw-dropping spectacle as Guinness World Record-holder Bryan Berg demonstrates his incredible card-stacking skills. Watch in awe as he meticulously balances and builds towering Texas icons using only a deck of cards, defying gravity with every delicate placement.

Chainsaw Carver

Experience the unique artistry of Chad Kilpatrick as he skillfully carves raw wood into stunning sculptures with his chainsaw and other common power tools. He'll perform his one-of-a-kind demonstration outside the Children's Aquarium on First Avenue.

Dino Time with Professor T. Tex

Hang out with Prof. Tex and his dino-wrangler at the lagoon as they bring their favorite dinosaurs through his time machine to meet fairgoers. This show is intended for children under 10 years old and will give them an opportunity to meet small dinosaurs.

German Biergarten

Suit up in your best lederhosen or dirndl and visit the Texas Discovery Gardens’ paid attraction, a traditional German Biergarten, with communal tables, rustic decor, and a festive atmosphere that transports you to a vibrant Bavarian beer hall.

Indulge in authentic German beers and German foods including sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels, tangy German mustards, and soft drinks.

Stars Over Texas

Come see Big Tex in the sky for this limited-time attraction at the Fair. It's happening from Thursday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 6.

All four nightly shows will begin immediately after the Mattress Firm Illumination Sensation at approximately 8:25 p.m. The drone shows are produced in partnership with Coppell-based Sky Elements.

Songblazers of Cirque du Soleil

Blending soulful guitar grooves with breathtaking acrobatics, Songblazers is a unique theatrical production that celebrates country music, honoring both its legendary icons and modern-day trailblazers. It takes you on a journey through the diverse influences of country music, bringing its timeless stories to life in an unforgettable way.

Guests can check out the performance at the Music Hall at Fair Park for 33 performances only from Sept. 25 to Oct. 20. Each ticket to Songblazers will include free admission to the fair.

Steve Goodtime

Get ready to rock with the newest addition to the Fringe Stage, performing gnarly guitar solos with wild stunts: guitar amp rola bola, dangerous thingy juggling, hotdog magic, and fitting into tiny leopard print pants are just a few of the routines.

State Fair of Texas Lotería!

Lotería is a traditional Mexican board game of chance, similar to bingo, but is played with a deck of cards. Every image in the game is inspired by some of the most iconic State Fair and Texas symbols.

State Fair Resident Chef

Step into the culinary spotlight with the new State Fair Resident Chef Pete Nolasco, as he performs live demos daily at the State Fair of Texas. Chef Pete first got involved with the State Fair of Texas while completing his culinary apprenticeship in 1991.

Watch as he crafts mouthwatering dishes, shares insider tips, and invites the audience to participate in an immersive gourmet experience. From beginners to seasoned cooks, everyone can savor the excitement and take home culinary inspiration.
