Here’s a look at what is happening this weekend.

Friday, July 26

Asian Film Festival of Dallas (Dallas, all weekend)

Since 2002, the Asian Film Festival of Dallas has given Asian and Asian American filmmakers and documentarians opportunities to showcase their cinematic vision on the big screen. Festivalgoers have a chance to experience other lives and cultures without leaving their theater seats.

Screenings will feature work from filmmakers across the world including student shorts, special Q&As and more. This year’s showcase films include “The Movie Emperor,” “Tokyo Cowboy,” “The Guest” and “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In.”

The film festival is hosted by its associated nonprofit organization and is volunteer-run. It runs from Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28 at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. Tickets for each screening are available here. The films are not rated.
