Do you have what it takes to be a Dallas Mavericks Dancer?

Get ready to pop, lock... and shake your pom poms.

On July 9, the Dallas Mavericks Dancers (DMDs) are holding auditions for their 2016-2017 squad. If you think you have what it takes, make sure you shimmy on over to the Imperial Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas for the preliminary audition.

Contestants are required to follow a certain dress code as listed below:

  • Half top (any style, any color)
  • Short Shorts (any style, any color)
  • Nude hose (any brand)
  • White socks
  • White shoes - dancer sneakers or athletic brands

The dancers have been hosting prep classes at Trophy Fitness Downtown since May, but you can till squeeze in one more class on Thursday, July 7. At the prep classes, DMD hopefuls learn dance routines similar to ones you see the dancers perform on the court.

"I have learned to be more confident in my dancing," said DMD Alexis Peterson. "Our job is to entertain the crowd and give our fans an awesome experience!"
