PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Singer-songwriter Barry Manilow was taken to a Los Angeles hospital Thursday after suffering complications from a surgery he underwent earlier in the week, according to his Facebook page.

The 72-year-old entertainer underwent emergency oral surgery Monday, Manilow’s management team said in a statement.

Manilow is in the midst of his One Last Time tour, which he has said will be his last tour.

As a result of his hospitalization, sold-out shows in Highland Heights, Ky., and Nashville were postponed Thursday and Friday. Ticket holders were asked to retain their existing tickets for redemption on new nights.

The Facebook statement was unclear on whether Manilow would be well enough to attend Monday’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. He is nominated for his latest album My Dream Duets.

Manilow was also scheduled to perform at the American Airlines Center on Thursday, Feb. 18. The status of that show is unclear.

Celebrities such as Arrow star John Barrowman, who, like Manilow lives in California's Coachella Valley, tweeted well-wishes.

"My love and good wishes to Barry, hope he is ok," Barrowman tweeted.

The Grammy Award-winning artist is famous for songs such as Copacabana (At the Copa), Mandy and Can’t Smile Without You.

The Gift of Love III concerts raised more than $500,000, which was divided among 30 local charities that help people recover from serious ailments and make it possible for children to learn through music.
