Michelle Montaine is a Sports Journalist covering all sports across the metroplex.
1) Who are you? I joined WFAA just in time for the 2024 NBA Finals run for the Dallas Mavericks! I returned to the Lone Star State after spending two years as a Sports Anchor & Reporter in Tulsa, OK. (As a native Texan, it just feels right to be on the this side of the Red River.)
I graduated from the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin (hook ‘em), and I began my career at Accenture. Not long after, I decided to pursue the career I always dreamed of: Sports Broadcasting. A few years, and a whole lot of sleepless nights later, I landed my first full-time job in the industry. Now, I can’t imagine ever going back!
I grew up in San Antonio, so Texas will always be home.
2) What are your interests? Trying to answer this question without including sports is so hard.
I love baseball, I love football, I love soccer, basketball, golf, all of them. I’ve even covered Pro Watercross and loved that.
Outside of that, I enjoy running (slowly), being near a body of water (beach or lake or retention pond), and cookies. Love cookies.
3) What do you like about working at WFAA? I love the standard of excellence established here 75 years ago and still upheld today.
The people that work here are all working to the same standard, and that allows for the best product to be put out day-in and day-out for the people we care about (YOU!).
4) What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? I am pretty good at ping pong. Not like Olympic level good, but pretty good.
