Dia Wall is an Anchor/Reporter at WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas.
1) Who are you? I’m a North Texas kid who graduated from Irving High School, Texas Christian University and started my career as a reporter for the Dallas Cowboys. I’ve worked as an anchor and reporter on just about every shift in both Sherman, Texas and Tyler, Texas before landing in Kansas City where I spent nearly nine years. Getting to work with the incredible storytellers at WFAA is a lifelong dream for me. I’ll be hanging with my husband, our two kids, and all our family and friends catching Horned Frogs and Cowboys games every chance I get!
2) What are your interests? I love to cook, eat and entertain. I’d like to think I’m the geriatric millennial version of B. Smith and Ina Garten combined, with a touch of Texas sass. Nothing makes me happier than a great conversation, the sound of people laughing out loud and great chips and queso. You’ll always catch me reading something, listening to a very diverse set of music and doing a casual run or two.
3) What do you like about working at WFAA? Hands down, the people. There’s a warmth not only in the product you see, but the incredible journalists who are making it happen. I also think there’s something wonderful about serving the community that helped make me who I am. The ability to showcase what’s happening across North Texas and the ways it affects us all is powerful. To use that power for equity, justice or change is a privilege I don’t take for granted.
4) What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? Oh, I love to sew. My mom, is a retired seamstress of sorts and despite all her attempts to teach me I didn’t really get into it until I became a mom myself. My jam right now is making baby outfits for all my expectant friends!
