KANSAS CITY, Kan. – FC Dallas took a one-goal lead away from home for the second straight Saturday but came away with a point this time in a 1-1 draw at Kansas City.

Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad scored a goal two minutes into stoppage time to salvage a point for Kansas City.

FC Dallas could not hold onto a 1-0 lead last week, falling to the Crew, 2-1, in Columbus, Ohio.

Andre Rocha scored his first MLS goal for FC Dallas, a hard, right-footed shot from about 35 yards on the right wing in the seventh minute for the game's first goal.

"It was probably one of the prettier goals you will see all year," FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said. "He has, probably, the best shot on the team. He's more of a defending midfielder, so he doesn't get into the attack as much as we would like him to."

FC Dallas had to play the last 28 minutes with 10 players after Pablo Ricchetti received his second yellow card for a reckless tackle on Wizards midfielder Davy Arnaud. Ricchetti earned his first yellow card seconds after the second-half kickoff with an intentional handball.

"We held until about the last two minutes of the game," FC Dallas captain Drew Moor said. "Before we started tonight, if we leave with a point, maybe we're satisfied with it. But, obviously, I think the course of the game changed that, and I think we're leaving here a little disappointed."

The Wizards made FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala dive to the ground to make three of his four saves in the first half.

"Dario was very good. In fact, I thought that this was one of the better games I've seen him play since I took over the team," Hyndman said. "The hardest thing for a goalie is to deal with all these crosses that are coming in with bodies in the box, and I thought for a span of time he did a great job of winning the ball."

Sala also performed well in the second half. He rose up above the crowd in the penalty area to punch away two Wizards corner kicks.

"I always have a good game in Kansas City," Sala said. "Someone reminded me before the game about last year, which was my first game in Kansas City. I had a good game then as well."
