A woman is recovering in Baylor hospital after being attacked by four pit bulls early Sunday morning in South Dallas, police said.
The attack happened about 2 a.m. in the 4300 block of Hamilton Avenue, near Fair Park.
Dallas Police officers cornered the animals until Dallas Animal Services employees could arrive to take the four dogs into custody.
Eddie Trevino lives a few doors down from where the attack happened.
"They were not stopping the attack on her," Trevino said. "They were biting, switching spots, I mean it was just a horrific scene."
Dallas Animal Services director Ed Jamison tells WFAA citations were issued for the owner of the dogs for failing to vaccinate, microchip, sterilize and confine the animals.
The dogs are being quarantined at DAS.
A serious bodily injury investigation is on-going by DAS, and could result in the animals being labeled as "dangerous dogs" or possibly being euthanized.
