A single-engine plane with two people on board crashed Saturday afternoon at Addison Municipal Airport, officials said.
The two passengers were transported to Medical City Plano with serious injuries, one being air-lifted.
The Piper Sport aircraft had just departed southbound from a runway when the pilot tried to turn around and land on the runway in the opposite direction, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane crashed nose-first before reaching the runway about 4:45 p.m.
The flight was reported to be a training flight.
FAA investigators were enroute to the airport and the National Transportation Safety Board had been notified.
