Medical Examiner names man who died in apartment complex fire Monday

Police and firefighters are still investigating the cause of a fire after a dead person was found inside a unit of an apartment complex that burned Monday in North Richland Hills.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — 4:45 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 22 UPDATE:

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has released the name of the man who died in an apartment complex fire Monday.

Authorities identified 41-year-old Bradley Wayne Morton as the man North Richland Hills Fire and Rescue found in the fire.

Four apartment units destroyed in the fire, which authorities say grew rapidly because of winds. The fire caused $600,000 in damages, authorities say.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and authorities are investigating. 

The cause of a fire is under investigation after a person was found dead Monday inside a unit at the Hilltop Apartment Homes, according to North Richland Hills police.

The three-alarm fire, which destroyed four units, broke out in building four at the apartment complex, located in the 6400 block of Iron Horse Boulevard.

The person was found dead inside one of the units as firefighters surveyed the building after they extinguished the fire. The identity of the deceased person wasn't known as of 4 p.m. Monday. 

The cause of the fire and the individual's death are under investigation.
