PLANO, Texas — One person was found dead inside a home after a fire broke out at the Plano residence late Monday night.
Firefighters responded to the home in the 3900 block of Gettysburg Circle when they received a call about the fire at about 10:20 p.m. Heavy smoke and flames were seen coming out from the house.
Neighbors warned firefighters at the scene that someone may be inside the home. Crews later found the deceased individual, who they haven't identified pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Nearly 50 firefighters responded to the scene.
Another deadly fire was reported at a separate Collin County home less than six hours later. In that case, firefighters were called to the scene at about 4 a.m. Tuesday to a Farmersville home, where a couple in their 80s were found dead inside. The cause of that fire is also under investigation.
