KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The missing man Kaufman County deputies were searching for after a crash on Highway 175 was found dead Sunday, according to his family.
The sheriff’s office said 40-year-old Logan Jacinto was involved in a crash at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, and that he ran away from the scene on foot.
His mother Rosie Jacinto told WFAA investigators told her Logan likely ran as a result of a head injury or trauma; that he was probably disoriented and confused when he fled.
Sunday, in one of many search parties, his brother found his body in a creek on private property near where the crash happened.
"Our hearts are broken right now," Rosie cried.
Logan Jacinto leaves behind his mother, 9 siblings, 2 children and his loving wife. He was a proud, hardworking electrician for the City of Dallas.
"He just loved his children, worked very hard," Rosie Jacinto told WFAA.
Logan Jacinto's sister, Sydonia, said her family is eternally grateful to the dozens of people who helped her family search for Logan since he went missing.
"Especially the volunteers who came out, even late at night with their ATVs, their horses," she said. "[Logan] knows we tried."
"We tried to get to him, he knew we didn't give up on him," she said. "Because he would've done it for us."
"We're gonna miss him...we're gonna miss him," Rosie said, sobbing.
Logan was the breadwinner for his family; family friends are now fundraising to support his wife and two sons, one of whom is currently sick in the hospital. Their GoFundMe can be found here.
