A 36-year-old man died after he went underwater while swimming with his son Thursday night.
Officers responded to a person in danger call around 9:01 p.m. in the 11500 block of Ferguson Road in far east Dallas. When officers arrived, paramedics were treating Montiel Gibbs, police said.
Gibbs had been swimming with his son when he slipped underwater. He was unresponsive when he was pulled from the water.
He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m., police said.
