DALLAS — Dallas Fire-Rescue were dispatched to the Federal Building at 525 S. Griffin St. Tuesday afternoon after an explosion was reported near the location, officials said.
Units were dispatched at 2:35 p.m., and arrived to find smoke coming from a manhole across the street from the building, with the cover blown off.
There was no fire coming from the hole when units arrived, officials said, and there was no one inside when the explosion took place, so no injuries were reported.
The manhole housed an electrical vault, officials said, so Oncor was notified to investigate what happened.
